Join us at tonight’s meeting!

Join us tonight at 8 p.m. in Student Union Room 2562 for our biweekly meeting!

Our guest speakers are Kathleen Merrill, associate vice president for marketing and advertising at ProMedica, and Esther Fabian, senior account executive at the agency Hart Associates.

Their discussion is ““I thought it was all cigarettes, martinis and long lunches.” It’s about building a strong client/agency partnership (regardless of which side you’re on), what both sides are looking for when they’re hiring new talent, and some sage words of advice from a couple of seasoned veterans. Esther is in charge of the ProMedica account at Hart, and tonight’s meeting will provide a look behind-the-scenes at how ProMedica works with their agency.

Tonight is also the deadline for Gold Membership dues ($50 for national, $10 for chapter if you haven’t paid those yet) so be sure to bring those. We accept both cash and check made out to PRSSA. If for some reason you are unable to attend tonight’s meeting but you wish to pay your Gold dues, you can do so by contacting Sam Watson at We will accept payments until noon on Thursday, Oct. 29 but absolutely no later. If you have any questions about dues, visit our “How Do I Join?” page or email us at

Meetings are always free and open to the public, so don’t be afraid to stop by or bring a friend! We look forward to seeing you there.

Highlighted are conferences that UT PRSSA will be looking to attend this year. So why should you come with us?

PRSSA Regional Conferences are a cheaper alternative to some of the national events like National Conference, National Assembly, and Leadership Rally, but with a lot of the same benefits. Regional Conferences broaden your network with fellow students and professionals, and provide invaluable learning experiences from experts in the field and hands-on activities. There is less traveling involved, which significantly reduces costs, plus each conference typically costs only $60 in registration fees compared to the $300+ often required for a larger conference. It’s also a great opportunity to take a road trip with your fellow Chapter members and get to know them on a personal level.

So mark your calendars, set aside a few bucks a month from now until spring, and we’ll keep you updated on the Regional Conferences in our area!
